Meet Your Course Instructor
All of the parenting courses we offer are taught by me, Karen Poitras. I am a therapeutic respite provider & parent coach, with a main focus on working with families and children with Reactive Attachment Disorder. I have been working with RAD since 2012 and have worked with 350+ kids and their families. I use information and approaches from Bruce Perry, Foster Cline, Gary Chapman, Karyn Purvis, the Australian Childhood Foundation, and Dr. Scott Sells, as well as techniques from the many therapists, coaches, and parenting specialists that I have worked under and with.
My approach to healing our kiddos from trauma is centred on family, connection, and brain healing. I work with parents to provide them with tips, tools, and techniques to empower them to connect with their child to facilitate healing, recovery, and happiness.
